Update. Just cause...

Work: I'm on holidays atm so work's great! In term 3 I'll be having a prac student which will either be very good (if she's good) or really bad (if she's bad). I'm meeting her this week to discuss the term so I'll have a pretty good idea what I'll be in for when I meet her.

Family: My daughter is learning to drive. She's been doing ok but she's convinced she will NEVER get the hang of driving a manual. I don't want her to give up on it as I think it will be a benefit to be able to drive both a manual and an auto. I know she can do it.

Fandom: My show, Project Macbeth, is over which means more fandom time (YAY!). As much as I've loved being in the show I really have missed having the extra time to vid and make things. Though I haven't been idle. We've been brainstorming ideas at [livejournal.com profile] spn_littlebro - we now have a tumblr and a [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo challenge. I have vid ideas that I am DESPERATE to get to. The OTW vid is still in the works. I shall know shortly what's going to be (officially) happening with it. The J2 vid is taking FOREVER! Sooooooo much footage - but fun to look at. Those two are adorable.

Oh, I made this short video Turning Tricks for [livejournal.com profile] virtualpersonal (for fandomaid). I think of it as a Video Story Banner. :)

Project Macbeth. I was a little worried that no one was going to understand the show (especially after some initial comments) but we ended up getting some great feedback and there were many that did actually understand it (it WAS pretty complicated - a play within a play). I loved being social again and I forgot how nice it is being part of the theatre family. I hope to do one show a year from now on.

TV: After consuming Hannibal I am now looking for another show to sink my teeth into. I'm thinking about giving Orphan Black a go (saw the first ep and it looks interesting).

I continue to have a love/hate relationship with Teen Wolf. I watch it. I look forward to watching it but there are equally amounts of stuff I really quite like about it (Stiles, Scott and Stiles friendship, Scott's mum and Stiles' Dad, the pack stuff) and quite a lot I do not like about it (um...pretty much everything else). But each episode seems to have enough to keep me coming back.

Movies Despicable Me was fun. Pacific Rim was...hee...hard to sum up in a few words. All I'll say is why didn't they use the sword in the first place?! (though Sam n Dean in the 'verse would be cool! And it's pretty bloody epic and HUGE!)

Hope you all are well. <3

I'm sure there will be a J2 Pacific Rim sooner rather than later, but I really hope someone does a Sam/Dean one. :D

[identity profile] cherie-morte.livejournal.com 2013-07-16 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
There actually is already at least one Sam/Dean Pacific Rim fic! Plus, I know a really great writer who is planning to do a longer one for minibang and I am considering doing one for bigbang. IT WAS JUST SO PERFECT FOR INCEST THAT I THINK SAM/DEAN MIGHT ACTUALLY WIN THIS ONE VS. J2! \o/

WOOT! \o/

[identity profile] girlmostlikely.livejournal.com 2013-07-16 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, I guess I need to go see this movie. I don't even know what it's about, lol.

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It's mega scale monsters vs robots. :D Pairs of hunters have to drive the robots and they have to mind meld in order to do so...(it begs SnD or J2)

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes - J2 in that 'verse would be great. Sam and Dean would totally fit the mind bonding scenario...<3

ha!! Looks like Orphan Black it is...;D

I'm glad your show went well! Your posts have made me miss doing theatre quite a bit! But I am also glad the show is done if it means more shiny fandom things from you, to be honest. :333

I hope your student is great and that you guys are compatible!

PACIFIC RIM!!! \o/

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Heya!

I only realised how much I really missed the theatre going back to it. Though I was happy for it to be finished. :)

I met my student today and I think we will get on really well. She's a dancer/performer and seems really nice. :))

Hee...Pacific Rim had me squeeing with delight one minute (those monster were amazeballs) and then despairing at their choice to cast non Aussies in the Aussie roles. /o\ on man...*cringe*

more fandom time (YAY!)

YAY, indeed. A summer without an Ash48 fanvid is a boring summer indeed.

Your daughter will be just fine -- I know she can do it, too. Once you get the hang of a manual, you never wanna go back to silly automatics. (And tell her that owning a manual vehicle will reduce the number of people who can borrow her car by 98%.)

The ability to drive a manual also impresses certain guys. (Of course, if they themselves can't do it, sometimes threatens them, but you probably won't want THAT fella anyway.) XDDDDD

/has only owned manuals

I have missed vidding!! Did quite a bit tonight and it felt good!

(And tell her that owning a manual vehicle will reduce the number of people who can borrow her car by 98%.)

Ha! Good point! I will definitely mention this! :DD

I've only owned manuals as well. I'm trying get it through to her how wonderful it is to be able to change gears and have that kind of control over the car. But yeah - she's not really enjoying it, but I am persisting. ;)

Yup. I love that part, being of "at one" with the car. Automatics just don't do it for me. :)

You should definitly check out Orphan Black, it's really different, has astounding acting and it's also a short season. If you like period drama you also might want to check out The White Queen on BBC, also a 10 episode run, set during the War of Roses. The first ep is the weakest, but it's great story telling from a mainly femal PoV, and great perfermances.

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah - I think Orphan Black is on the top of my list. :)) Oooh - I haven't heard of The White Queen. I'll take a look...;)

Yay for more time for fandom!

I just went and saw Pacific Rim today! Mostly because I expect SPN and J2 fic in the 'verse and I wanted to get the background! - hee!

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw it because of all the noise fans were making about it. I agree it would be a perfect backdrop for either Sam n Dean or J2. Actually, I think fans might do a better job of the story telling...;))

Consuming Hannibal, lol. I just mainlined the entire first season after reading the Most Eloquent Pimping Post Ever, so I am still all *hearts in eyes* over it. What did you think? Did you love it? How much do you want Hannibal (the dude, not the show) to die in a fire?

Congrats on the play going so well; it sounds like it was most intriguing!

[identity profile] ash48.livejournal.com 2013-07-17 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh hun! I LOVED Hannibal! In fact...this is how much I loved it (http://ash48.livejournal.com/339974.html) Not exactly eloquent but lists all the things I love about it...:D

And I think the play was intriguing... even though it did leave quite a few scratching their heads.

I'm glad Macbeth was a great time for you - and I'm also glad you now have time for fannish pursuits again!

It's interesting what you say about Teen Wolf. I'm familiar with it from Tumblr, know the premise, have seen the exodus from spn to it and always wondered. Finally got curious enough to stream an episode after the one at the motel everyone raved about. it was fine, but it just seemed a little too teen for me in a way Supernatural just isn't.

Or maybe I'm too old for teen ensemble shows anymore:)

So glad Project Macbeth went well!
