Finally something to post about!
Intro with a reminder that Sam was ALL ALONE !(THIS WILL BE IMPORTANT >>>> YAY!!!)
DEAN SAYING "COME 'ERE" AND HUGGING SAM!!! I. CANNOT. EVEN. (COME HERE LET ME PUT MY HANDS ALL OVER YOU!)
HUUGG!!!! OF course that's like YAY!!! because it's totally what they do when one dies and returns. HA!!! It's like the ONLY time they hug so show has to keep killing them off so they can HUG!! And what a schmoopy hug it was!
THEY LOOK GREAT! (Can I just quietly say... ESPECIALLY DEAN! Arghhh...did I say that?! Yes I did! He looks A-MAZING. So does Sam - but, you know, that's just a given...;D)
I'm even excited for disheveled, LOOKING WORSE FOR WEAR Castiel! What's the story?! I wanna know!! (I know...see... I can get excited for Cas stuff! I can! *g*)
KEEVINNNNNNN!!!!!!! LOOK AT HOW AWESOME HE IS! It looks like we have another kick ass hunter. Look how far he has come since the end of S7? No longer the timid, out of his depth boy. But... OMG?! What happened to him....?! He was with Crowley! Will he be working for Crowley maybe?! (Was that Kevin's girlfriend in there?) KEVIN IS COOL! AND CUTE!
ACTION! ADVENTURE! BOYS WORKING TOGETHER! MYSTERY! (CAN'T WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT THE BOYS HAVE BEEN THROUGH IN THAT YEAR!) HELL GATES, MENTION OF LEVIATHAN (I didn't want that to have been swept under the carpet). AND SO MUCH MORE.... (my capslock button is breaking...)
And you know that spoiler about Sam not caring about Dean being gone?! Jared clarified that that ISN'T THE CASE! Don't forget - they not only have 23 episodes to fill this season but a possible 2 seasons more. They HAVE to do new things with their relationship. And from what I've heard... THEY ARE! \o/ ALL WILL BE FINE!

8.1: we don't know. Maybe it follows Sam more, reversing 4.1 and 6.1, but I haven't heard anything to that effect.
8.2: all I know is that it's Cas's first ep back, which suggests heavy on the purgatory flashbacks.
8.3: Jensen said it was Dean-heavy
8.4: is Winchester light in general; both Js were off for five days, and it focuses on other characters.
8.5: Jared was off for five days.
Jared said in one of the early interviews that it was a Sam-lite season, and Jensen was joking about Jared's leisure schedule and saying we should lobby for more Sam scenes. I get that Jared may need more time off, but going for a storyline that seems to be almost all emotion and not much action seems to me the worst way to deal with that, since safe, mundane, and comfortable doesn't tend to compress well dramatically.
I was disappointed in the last third of s7, but more in a "they're in holding pattern waiting for the new showrunner" way than a "they've ruined the show" way. And I was excited by what the finale seemed to be setting up. But ever since Comic Con what I've been hearing has made me actively unhappy, so there was a real, abrupt nosedive in my feelings. I do know a lot of people who have been drifting away anyway, but also quite a lot who went from excited to depressed based on spoilers.

I'm surprised that 8.3 is Dean heavy, especially as Jensen directed it. I thought that one was going to be about Sam's past. I must have misunderstood that.
I know the spoilers where upsetting. They upset me also. I have tried to remain positive because I enjoy being excited and I've decided that I won't actually get upset until I really have something to be upset about.
If the show decides to give the boys a lot of time off then I suspect we are in for a very different show than we had in the past. No doubt there will be a lot of complaining by fans. I know TPTB are considerate of fans, so lets hope they can give us something to be happy about.
